About the Captain
Jason’s love of sportfishing started as a child.� He used to accompany his uncle while fishing from�

the barge in Redondo Beach, local city lakes, and as far north as Oxnard.� Jason’s recreational�

fishing was interrupted by his acceptance of a full baseball scholarship to U.C. Riverside.��

Following a short two-year stint in professional baseball, Jason resumed a career in his second�

love, fishing.� He went on to try his hand at long range fishing, starting aboard the Searcher and�

continuing with the Shogun and the Excel.� In his seven years aboard these boats Jason has�

visited some extreme locales, including Clipperton Atoll four times.

About the Boat
The HI-COUNT is a custom-built 44’ Pacifica sportfisher that was designed by fishermen for�

fishermen!�The Hi-Count was repowered and remodeled in 2003 for optimum performance as�

well as comfort. She sports two Cummins, 6CTA main engines producing a silent and smooth�

700-horse power. The boat has the ability to cruise home at speeds in excess of 20 knots after a�

long day of fighting fish in style. Relax in the comfortable salon, enjoy an ice-cold beverage and�

kick back while our crew filets and packages your catch.

Her beam is 15’ 6" unlike some other charter boats this makes for a giant cockpit with plenty of�

elbowroom to maneuver when the big ones are biting. Our bait capacity is huge with two tanks on�

the stern and one on the bow, you never have to go far on deck to pin on some fresh bait. Her�

creature comforts include: a full galley, spacious salon, full entertainment system, two heads, hot�

shower, and three staterooms. She sleeps six passengers and one crewmember in seven separate�

berths. In the spring of 2006 the Hi-Count was re-fitted with a solid plywood-fiberglass deck in�

the cockpit. The leaky teak, lift-out hatches were replaced with aluminum Freeman hatches. She�

was also given a face-lift with fresh paint to her cabin.

If you are an avid big-game fisherman or you just want a day on the water away from all the�

of the tackle that you will need. Complimentary fish processing is included on each trip: we will�

clean and freezer-pack your catch while we return to the dock.� The HI-COUNT is available for�

half day, � day, twilight, overnight all day, or multi-day trips.
